Hybrid Battery Replacement in Tennessee

Tennessee heat takes a toll on an aging hybrid battery. After years of hot summers, you may notice lower MPG, weaker acceleration, or your gas engine running more often. We make replacement easy with free mobile installation — we come to you, and most installs take about an hour.

Tennessee heat can be hard on an aging hybrid battery
A tired battery does not mean a tired vehicle. Replacing it can restore the hybrid performance and the MPG you have been missing. You have three options to choose from, so you can match the battery to how long the hybrid is staying with you.

In West and Middle Tennessee, the summers add up

Your hybrid battery relies on cabin air to help keep it cool, so long stretches of hot weather make it work harder. After ten summers, that heat exposure adds up — whether your hybrid spends its days in traffic or out on the highway.

Tennessee hills can expose a weak battery

If your hybrid feels weaker on climbs than it used to, an aging battery may not be delivering the power it once did. The hills aren't necessarily what wore it out. They're where you notice it.

Still driving the hybrid you bought years ago?

Hybrid batteries don't last forever. If your vehicle is getting older and your MPG isn't what it used to be, a replacement can bring back the performance you've been missing — without replacing the vehicle. And if you plan to keep putting miles on it, go ahead. Every battery we offer comes with an unlimited-mileage warranty.

Don't spend your day at the dealership

No drop-off, no loaner, and no waiting room. Free mobile installation means we bring the battery out and install it where your hybrid already is. Most installations take about an hour, so you can get back on the road without giving up your day. Call (888) 473-7265 today.
Before you replace anything, make sure it's the battery

A failing hybrid battery usually announces itself: fuel economy drops, the gas engine runs more than it used to, a warning light comes on. Those same symptoms show up with other faults, so pull the trouble codes before you spend anything. Our trouble code lookup explains what each one means.

Which hybrid battery we recommend in Tennessee
We install all three of these across Tennessee. Heat and years are what use a battery up here, so weigh heat tolerance and service life against how long you plan to keep the vehicle.
1 Our pick

New Module Sodium

Built for heat and rated up to 140°F, Sodium is our longest-lasting option at an estimated 5-7 years. It comes with a 4-year, unlimited-mileage warranty, making it a strong choice if you plan to keep your hybrid for years to come.

Sodium is newer technology, so it isn’t available for every vehicle yet. Find My Battery will show you in just a couple of steps whether it’s available for yours.

2 Also a strong choice

New Module Prismatic

Prismatic is the closest match we offer to the battery your hybrid came with, designed to bring back the smooth, familiar performance you remember. It lasts an estimated 4-6 years and comes with a 3-year, unlimited-mileage warranty. A strong choice if you want a factory-like replacement without replacing the vehicle.

3

New Module Cylindrical

Cylindrical is our most affordable new-module option, with an estimated 3-5 year lifespan and a 2-year, unlimited-mileage warranty. It also delivers the strongest power of the three — a difference you may appreciate on the hills and grades of East Tennessee.

This order is for Tennessee. Each type carries its own warranty, so coverage depends on which battery you choose — the warranty page lists the terms, and the battery technology page has the full side-by-side comparison.

Common questions

Yes. A driveway, an office lot or a curbside space is all it takes — no shop visit, no tow, no garage. Tell us where you are and we’ll confirm the options for your address.

An aging battery is a likely reason if the gas engine runs more often, your hybrid feels slower away from a light, or the MPG has drifted down. None of that needs a warning light first, which is why most people put it down to the vehicle getting old.

No. Distance is not what uses a hybrid battery up, which is why our warranties carry no mileage limit at all. Steady highway driving is about the easiest work a hybrid battery ever does. What took yours was the years, and the summers behind those years.

The climbs are not what wear it out. What they do is show you where a battery already is. A healthy one gives the assist you expect on a grade, and a tired one does not. Long descents are a little different, because regenerative braking keeps feeding charge in as the battery approaches its charge limit, and handling that generates heat.

The usual signs are worse gas mileage, the engine running more than it used to, less power on hills, and a warning light. Other problems cause the same signs, so read the trouble codes before you spend anything. Our trouble code lookup tells you what each code means. On an older vehicle a blocked cooling filter produces much the same symptoms, so have it looked at too.

You don’t have to figure this out alone. Call us and we will go through the codes with you and rule out the other causes first.

Whatever it turns out to be, the vehicle still drives. A worn hybrid battery costs you gas mileage and some power. It does not leave you stranded.

Choose New Module Sodium if it is offered for your vehicle, because it handles heat better than anything else we sell and lasts the longest. Choose New Module Prismatic to keep the feel of your original. Choose New Module Cylindrical for the lowest price, or for the most power on the eastern grades. The battery technology page compares all three. If you cannot pick, choose any one of them and ask us for a quote covering all three, and we will put it together.

Every battery we install is covered, and none of the warranties has a mileage limit. There is nothing to cap, because how far you drive is not what wears a hybrid battery out. How many years you get depends on which battery you choose, and the warranty page has the terms.

Shade through the summer does more than anything else you can do here. Change the cooling filter on schedule, because that filter is the only real maintenance a hybrid battery has. If the vehicle sits for weeks at a time, take it out for a decent drive now and then. A hybrid battery slowly loses charge when nothing is using it, and letting it run all the way down does permanent damage.
