Born out of the need for a better hybrid battery, Green Bean Battery was built around the core of creating a reliable reconditioned hybrid battery and extending the hybrid battery life. Since our humble beginnings, we have grown to create a proprietary hybrid battery reconditioning process that puts our hybrid batteries in a league of their own.

Creating a reliable, reconditioned hybrid battery, is what sets Green Bean Battery apart from everyone else. When Green Bean takes the old hybrid battery out of your vehicle, we take it back to one of our two reconditioning facilities, and put it through our proprietary reconditioning process. The process begins with load testing the battery and identifying its current overall state of health. The battery is then disassembled, and the battery modules or cells are exercised on Green Bean’s equipment, which restores their ability to store electrical energy. The modules are then tested, where their capacities are determined, and they’re grouped with other modules of a similar power and capacity. After a final charge and testing of the modules, the battery is built around the good cells. The remaining electrical and wiring components are checked, reconditioned, and tested to ensure proper operation. The battery connections or “Bus Bars” are upgraded with a nickel plating to prevent corrosion, and to ensure top performance and long battery life. And finally, the entire battery pack is then reassembled and load tested in its entirety. Simulating the same demands on the pack as real world driving. Every Green Bean battery must meet stringent performance standards before it can be installed in your vehicle!
Here at Green Bean Battery, we have not only developed a process for reconditioning the batteries, but built the equipment to do it too. We designed the technology, wrote the software from scratch, and built all the reconditioning equipment in house. I had my battery installed in September and waited until now to review so I could reflect on performance. I am very impressed, MPG is now approaching the MPG when the car was new. Install was very smooth and I am very impressed with how Green Bean handled everything. An observation, when the battery is first installed they say MPG will be poor for about 100 miles while the battery re calibrates (i assume that is the appropriate word), in my car that took over 500 miles. While it took time to re calibrate it worked out well as now I get great MPG.

Had Brock come out for a warranty replacement. He was early and it worked out great for my lunch break! He is a good dude, I’m so thankful for this company and how smooth of a process this is. When I emailed green bean about my issues of my check engine light coming on and the codes Adrain called me within 5 minutes and got something scheduled. EXCELLENT! I have a 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid.Few days ago I was in your place reading reviews to learn more about the company. At first I wasn’t sure if I wanted to do business with Green Bean due to the fact that didn’t know much about them. Thank God 🙏🏻 I decided to go with them, it was the best decision I made, they have great customer service from the moment you start your process to the moment your Hybrid battery is replace. Zack Brown was incredibly helpful and delivered a great customer service experience to me over the phone. I'm a meticulous consumer and worked with him over the course of two days asking questions about the installation process of a new battery for my '05 Prius. He also helped to elaborate on the details of the battery refurbishing process and even directed me to a gentleman in the company named Arin for even more information further regarding my car. Zack's patience was of great value to me and would highly recommend working with him. Also Arin was incredibly helpful and friendly as well. Overall solid experience.

I trust Green Bean for their lifetime warranty. Their office was very helpful, friendly and empathetic. I'm please that they were because having your hybrid battery going out is not a small repair. Nonetheless, they answered all my questions and their tech came out and did a wonderful job installing. The tech was very helpful, competent and did great job. I am writing this review to show our appreciation to Scott Lantay of the Green Bean Team. We purchased the refurbished Hybrid battery for our 2005 Prius with the lifetime warranty. Scott came to our house, installed the battery, tested it, answered all of our questions and was both incredibly professional and helpful. We did have an issue about a month in, reported it to Green Bean and Scott was here the next day to install a another system at no cost. Again, he was professional, helpful and we couldn't ask for better service. Though we want this install to last a bit longer, we do look forward to our next interaction with Scott. If he is reflective of the Green Bean team,, then we have made a good choice and can highly recommend.

Got my battery replaced for my 2009 Tahoe a week ago. The install was done quickly and professionally, and the new hybrid battery runs great. The warranty is pretty unbeatable considering the cost as well. The best experience you could ever have with such a costly and vital part of your hybrid is to call Green Bean Battery! Spoke to Zach who was Top Notch in every regard. The savings is more than significant and they’re helpful and so convenient in terms of having them come to you. Matt, our technician was prompt and polite and thorough, an all-around great guy to work with! Don’t give up on your hybrid because a dealer or other mechanic is quoting you $4k-$7k or more for your hybrid battery, call Green Bean and pay the price they quote that comes with their lifetime warranty that no dealer or mechanic would ever give you!!

My tech was Almir Silva. Almir was on time, professional and very friendly. He gladly let my son and me watch the entire battery replacement process and answered all questions throughout. Once the replacement was completed, Almir took us on a ride to make sure the vehicle was performing properly. Green Bean provides an unlimited warranty which is comforting as well. Excellent experience.

I would give 10 stars if I could, but only can give 5 unfortunately. Matt Nemeth was the installer that met my daughter in West Wendover, NV from her 2 1/2 hour drive from Provo, UT as we wanted the battery replaced by Green Bean Battery but at this time not in Utah yet till hopefully next year. I am a huge Prius fan/nut or fanatic and bought one with 300k miles and have confidence in at least another 100k miles and now with a lifetime warranty I believe it will make it! Great scheduling within 1 week request on a Saturday and installer drove 10 hours the night before to install the battery! Thank you Matt! Well worth the $1649 for a battery replacement guaranteed for the life of the car! Quick and easy to get completed, only about 45 mins. Again researched for a while and decided this option versus a cheaper temporary fix by replacing individual cells and more labor intensive work for someone who doesn’t have a lot of time and the fact that my daughter is out at school 1200 miles away from home. Highly recommended and great service and installer Matt! Thank you again, we have 3 other Priuses and of needing battery replacement in the future we will use Green Bean Battery again!! Thank you!

So far, so good! My buddy recommended Green Bean to me. Toyota dealer was going to charge me 2700.00 for new hybrid battery and installation on top of the 155.00 already charged for diagnostic. So much good about this company, the life time warranty, the price and best of all, they come to you, to install the battery! 🙂 It was good to hear about Green Bean! Len came even sooner than appointment time.Told him my prius problem, He diagnosed my car with patience. Could not drive Prius cause of problem it had. He said other than battery , i need to put more gas even though the fuel light gad 3 bars. He replaced the hybrid battery, cleaned air filter passage and guess what!Prius started and ready to drive. Nice guy, great service. Lifetime warranty!!Wow!!

Scott Lantay installed my replacement battery today (Saturday) and I only placed the order yesterday! He was punctual, helpful, and professional. He explained all the things he found as he did the install and even showed me how to check on my 12 volt battery via the on board computer! He took great care to clean all the various parts that could have contributed to the problem, and told me what he was doing! Also, he was working in the rain in a very small car port! Needed a new battery for my 2006 Prius, so I set an appointment for later in the afternoon. Within 2 hours, Len from GreenBean arrived and ran a diagnostic on my car. Len was very friendly and easygoing with the whole process, walking me through it the whole way. He was also done surprisingly quickly; the whole process took 45 minutes. The battery hasn’t given me problems in the past day I’ve been using it, but if it ever does I can use their lifetime warranty to fix it. Overall it was a great and easy process, I’d recommend to anyone in the same situation.

I had a great experience with Green Bean. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing a hybrid battery replacement. John from Green Bean Battery drove from Iowa to my house in central Illinois and replaced the battery in my 2005 Prius. He arrived early, was very friendly and polite, and the entire appointment lasted barely over an hour - including the test drive afterward. It probably would have taken even less time if I hadn't been curious and nosy about how he did it.I am a hands-on DIY kind of guy, and a part of me wanted to buy a refurbished battery and replace it myself (or find the bad cells and replace the individual cells). But the price of the Green Bean battery and, most importantly, the *Lifetime Warranty*, convinced me to give them my business. I'm happy that I did.

Original review below: 2 Years in and the replacement battery is still going strong. Cant recommend these guys enough.Overall a very good experience. Reached out to them on 1/22/2018 and they were at my office 1/23/2018 to replace the battery in my 2007 Camry Hybrid. Installer arrived at the time specified and called to let me know he was on the way. Clean cut and knew what he was doing. Only recommendation I would make is to maybe clean up the replacement battery a bit more. Green casing looked nice but it was obvious that battery had seen some wear and tear, especially since the one you pulled out of my car looked brand new still. The disconnect side which had no paint looked like the battery had been sitting in a very dirty environment for some time. Beyond that im very happy with them and the money that was saved.

Called them up on a Thursday morning to get an appointment scheduled thinking I might have to wait a few days to get on their calendar. Scott the installer was at my house the very next day exactly on time for the appointment Jocelyn scheduled. He worked diligently despite the rain we were getting that day and went above and beyond cleaning the cooling fan and explaining things as he worked. The battery was swapped and we went on a test drive to confirm everything was in working order. Looking forward to many more miles from our 2010 Prius. Thanks again Scott!

Bill (installer from Cincinnati, OH area) replaced our battery in our 2012 Prius C on Sat. Jan. 4th, 2020. We live about an hour and a half away from Bill. He called a few minutes before I was told he would call and arrived within the time he said he'd arrive. He was very pleasant to speak with and quite open to answering questions. He even invited me to accompany him on the check out drive and explained to me what he was looking for on the display. I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to have this done on a Sat. morning and one day after I called to schedule the service, (called on Jan. 3rd). I thought I was going to have to wait much longer and risk the battery going out and having to park or tow our car. I am hoping the replacement battery will last several years. I definitely recommend requesting Bill. He's very nice to work with and competent (he's been doing this with Green Bean since July 2018). Jocelyn (at headquarters) was very nice to speak with on the phone and was very response to follow on questions I had via email. With this kind of service, a lifetime warranty, and a price of $1549, I'm a very satisfied customer. Thank you!

I called Thursday, was able to get an appointment the next day, and Adam replaced the battery in less than an hour. Amazing service and a very knowledgeable technician. I was originally going to recommend them for their warranty alone (much cheaper than selling a hybrid with a dead battery and buying a new car), and now I'm recommending them for their customer service, quick turnaround time, and overall experience. I also learned of this company through exploring the Internet. This occurred when the company that I take my Yukon to told me it might be necessary to replace the hybrid battery when the indicator came back on. Which it did. But they said this was a very rare battery. He could not give me a timeframe of when they could potentially get the battery and do the work. All the individuals from green bean seem to go the extra mile to get this done in a timely fashion. Whether it was a salesperson, schedulers, or the battery technicians who did the work, they will want the extra mile. The first attempt was on Christmas eve the 24th. Unfortunately the battery they had had some unseen damage and could not be made to work. However they were in contact with the front office all the time that day. And then rescheduled me with Adam for Sunday morning December 28 at 8:00 in the morning. Once again he arrived right on time he was able to get the battery changed in an efficient fashion for me. He came to my office to do the replacement. He drove with me to make sure it was working appropriately. I am grateful that this was accomplished in such a timely and well done fashion. The lifetime warranty I find as an added bonus.

I had an amazing experience with this company! After having my Prius diagnosed at a repair shop, I was able to get an appointment very quickly and they were even able to get to me sooner than scheduled. Adam came right to my house and swapped out my busted hybrid battery in about 45 minutes. He was kind, courteous and very professional. The best part, the price was a FRACTION of what the repair shop quoted me for a battery with a joke of a warranty. (I don't even want to know what the dealership would charge). I would (and will) recommend this company to anyone in need of a hybrid battery replacement. One thing I highly suggest, VERIFY for certain that the hybrid battery is the issue with your vehicle. Green Bean does not diagnose problems with your car. They replace hybrid batteries when requested.

I contacted them on 12/26/2019 and paid $1749 to secure my appointment for 12/27. First, let me say superior customer service from start to finish. I am so impressed with the customer service they provide. I was contacted to confirm my appointment, then contacted to let me know the installer was running behind and then the technician contacted me 45 mins in advance to let me know he is on his way and showed up at 5 pm exactly the time for my appointment.I am so happy that even when I had an issue after the install they came back out the following day and fixed the problem. I am so happy and relieved that my car passed emissions and I didn’t have to pay $6K as what was quoted to me at the dealership. I highly recommend you to contact them for your battery. Excellent job!!!

Ali replaced the traction battery in my 2010 Prius today. He arrived early, was very organized and efficient and completed the swap in just 45 minutes. It only took 2 days from the time I first contacted Green Bean for them to come to my home and install the battery. What sold me was the reviews and the lifetime warranty. Time will tell but I believe I have made the best choice since we plan on keeping our Prius another 10 years!

I got the bad news that I needed to replace my hybrid battery on my Toyota Camry. The dealership wanted $4800 as well as other shops in the area. I came across this site as I was doing some research and am so happy I did. I ordered my battery and they called the same day and came out to do the installation. Everything is running great and the installer Almir Silva with GBB CO Tech was very prompt, professional and went into great detail about what he was doing. I will be recommending Green Bean to anyone who needs a new battery.

The hybrid battery on my 2004 Prius continued to give out after replacing a few cells here and there. I decided to go with Green Bean Battery to get the reconditioned battery replacement after being quoted about 2500 bucks for a new one at the dealer. I scheduled an appointment for the next day, they called to confirm the appointment early next morning, then sent over Matt Nemeth to get the work done right at home.Matt came in and out and got the work done in about 45 min. Really nice guy and no hiccups. Clean in-and-out work. From scheduling the appointment to the final sign-off on the work, the whole thing took much less than 24 hours. Great service. If anything comes up, I'll edit the review but very satisfied.

So far so good!! Can’t beat their warranty. I had Kenny come and install my HV battery today. I placed my request online yesterday after 7pm!! And I had someone here to replace my battery the next day at noon! It took about 30 minutes give or take 10 minutes due to us talking to him during installment. I’ve done a lot of research on batteries and I’m glad I picked this route. Of course I’ll continue to update this post about my battery health if need be.

It’s only been a couple days since I replaced the battery so I can’t say it’s going to last but so far so good. The customer service over the phone was amazing and responsive. Literally was able to get in the next day. Len the technician was also so nice! He sprained his ankle that morning but he was still all smiles and friendly. They had warranties and receipt sent to me over email and I couldn’t be more pleased. Just a little insight, I didn’t bother going to the dealer. Heard they only sell new batteries so that was definitely out of my budget. Also went to a specialized hybrid mechanic with high reviews and was recommended by a friend but still quoted me with $2200 installation on a used hybrid (not refurbished but used from a junk yard or online) with only 1 year warranty. Green Bean was a no brainer and I told that mechanic I was choosing Green Bean. He told me that a lot of refurbished places aren’t reliable and within 6 months they tend to go bad but he actually said the only one he has heard good things about is Green Bean so I was relieved! Great Experience in Florida! I have a 2007 Camry hybrid and the dealer quoted me $3800 + tax for a new HV battery. I finally called Green Bean after checking out local mechanics and other local hybrid battery shops. I was able to be scheduled the next day! Ali was my technician and he arrived at my home on time. He was polite, personable and answered all of my questions. It took him less than an hour to replace! Even if I had to use the warranty yearly this would be worth it. I like that they are located across the nation so if I move Or am traveling I should be able to get service from almost anywhere and the warranty follows the car.

I am completely satisfied with this experience. From my first calls to Zack. He was knowledgeable and made the experience very easy. I booked my appointment for two days away. The installer Matt called me right after the installation was complete. He test drove it and asked me where I wanted the key left after he locked the car. My prius was hesitating on take off and I had code after code coming up. Its like a new car now. Solid smooth acceleration and the battery indicator bars are at the top, even after sitting on a cold night. I couldn't be more happy with the way this problem was solved. Both guys were very professional and courteous, and the lifetime warranty makes me happy.

We have a 2005 Prius with 209k miles. Thanks to facebook and the Toyota prius owners club for all the recommendations we ended up going with Green Bean Battery. Our Camry Hybrid battery died on a Monday. Tuesday I took it to the Toyota dealership. They called later and said it would be at least $4500, unless something else was also wrong, to replace the hybrid battery. Ugg! My brother told be to contact Greenbean. I contacted Greenbean Tuesday and they said they could be at our home Thursday at 1:30 and replace the battery for $1749, total. Emanuel called me at 12:00 Thursday and said he could be at my home to replace the battery at 1:00. I said great! He arrived at 1:00 and by 1:40, I had a restored hybrid battery and all the warning lights were gone. Emanuel did great work, was efficient and very personable. Thanks Greenbean and Emanuel.

After 12 years and 100k+ miles on my 2nd gen Prius I started it up one day and was met with a big angry triangle on the dash. I took a look at the diagnostic code and saw the dreaded P0A80 code, meaning traction battery failure was imminent. After doing some searching online I found GreenBean and was quoted $1450 for a reconditioned battery and installation service in my driveway. Seeing as a new factory unit would've cost over $4000, and even other 3rd party reconditioned batteries would have cost over $1200 before installation, I opted to go with GreenBean thanks to the added comfort of their lifetime warranty. I went online and put in an appointment request for the next afternoon, thinking I'd just ask for an early time slot and take the earliest slot they could set me up with. I received a phone call the next morning from Eric, who let me know that an installer was available at the time I requested, and walked me through the process over the phone. The installer, Frank, showed up on time later that afternoon and had the battery swapped out in under 40 minutes, and after a quick test drive to confirm everything was working my vehicle was good to go! I had a great experience with GreenBean and would go to them again for any hybrid battery needs.

Terrific experience with Len. Couldn’t have been better. He called me to let me know his exact time of arrival, a little before scheduled. That’s enough right there, But on top of that, He answered all of my questions and did so in a way that I could understand them, and was friendly and professional and all ways.He took time to tell me a little bit about how things worked so that if I had a problem in the future I would have a better understanding. He went above and beyond, and then, he even finished before the estimated time!I’m sure all the folks at Green Bean are great, but if I ever need to replace my Battery again,( like in another 200,000 miles ;-), I will definitely be asking for Len again! I had the hybrid battery replaced in my 2006 Toyota Prius in June 2019. The technician, Scott Lantey, did a super awesome job. He was very professional, knowledgeable and he went the extra mile by cleaning the cooling fan. I bought a 2005 Prius for $4600 in 2017 and drove it 50,000 miles when the hybrid battery died. Luckily, the car could drive still and I took it to the Toyota dealership where they quoted me $3500 for replacement, with a two year guarantee of the battery, not labor. A local shop quoted me $2500, with a three year guarantee of just the battery, not labor. I contacted Green Bean Battery and they quoted me $1449, which is just what I paid for installation (no extra fees of any kind). Kenny, the installer, was on time, called me on the way, worked on the car in my driveway, and was finished in 45 minutes. Everything was left neat and clean. We took a test drive and the new-to-me battery was charging, showed five bars, and in about two miles, six bars. Kenny told me he would have come yesterday, when the battery gave up the ghost, if I had asked. I couldn't imagine that was even possible! As it was, within 24 hours of realizing I needed a new battery, one was installed and running. This niche service is genius! They do one thing, install batteries, and do it so very well. Great customer service and a lifetime guarantee on both the battery and installation.

The staff at Green Bean Battery is the best. Jocelyn and Len were professional and courteous from start to finish. As a Prius owner searching for an alternative repair option besides the dealer and their outrageous $4500 price for a new hybrid battery, I feel so fortunate and am so happy I found Green Bean Battery. Jocelyn answered all my questions, verified my own scan codes with me and scheduled my hybrid battery replacement for the next day. Len was on time, very knowledgable, did fast clean work, and is an all around nice guy. The battery pack has been flawless, and I am resting easy with their lifetime warranty. By all accounts, my 2006 with 120,000 miles had an early battery failure and I was not at all happy at the prospect of spending the $4500 the dealer wanted. Green Bean cost me 1/3 as much with a fantastic warranty compared to the 1 or 2 year Toyota offers. If you are unsure like I was, compare their reviews with those of other companies and feel confident they are the ones to go to for your replacement battery without a doubt.

I had to replace my 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid Batterys after Toyota Mac said a code came up that said they needed replaced. I knew that Toyota said it would cost about $5,400.00 plus tax and 2 days to replace. I did a lot of research on the internet and finally ended up going with Green Bean Batterys. I called the number at the end of May 2019 and they said they would be in my area tomorrow. I’m in West Virginia the city of Parkersburg and found it odd that they could get to me so quickly. The man called 1 hour before arriving at Parkersburg to give me a heads up. After arriving he went right to work on the car. Now keep in mind the Dealership said 2 days to do the work. The Green Bean Tec. had the battery out on the ground in 22 minutes, and replaced and test drove the car with the replacement batteries installed in a little over a hour.. I was very pleased and found it hard to believe I got it done in a little over an hour and under $2,000. I was upset that the Dealership said it was a 2 day job! We after about 6 months the other morning my lights all came on in the morning on a holiday weekend Thanksgiving of all times to have trouble. I called GBB and left a message at 7:30 in the morning. Meanwhile I got the car scanned and it said to replace the battery pack. I knew being a holiday weekend it would be Monday before I would hear from GBB. Unbelievably they called back in 2 hours and said no worries and no cost to me they would be to me in hours and have the Batterys replaced. Unbelievable service and less than 4 hours a man showed up and replaced the Hybrid Batteries in less then one hour and no charge. I can’t tell you how impressive to come to me and replace the batteries that quickly on a holiday weekend and NO charge. Going with Green Bean Batterys was by far the best choice I could have made. The battery on my Camry Hybrid went out. I took it to a shop locally to do a diagnostic. The only thing wrong was the Hybrid battery. This shop wanted $3,750 to replace with a new battery with a three year guarantee. I googled for options, Green Bean showed up and I was impressed enough by their ratings to give them a try considering the cost was more than half of the local shop. Kenny showed up at my house this morning on time and had me rolling again in an hour. He explained everything and was very friendly and helpful! It might seem to good to be true, but it is true and we saved lots of dollars! Update- The first battery had an issue. They came back out two days later and replaced it. Great Service!

Great experience. They where able to schedule an appointment within 3 days. The tech drove over 2 hours to come to my house to do the work. He was on time, courteous and did a great job in just under 1 hour. Total cost was as advertised. Saved me $2750 from what the dealer wanted to charge me. Dealer wanted $4200 + Tax= roughly $4500, Green Bean $1750 total. It has been a couple weeks and my car is running well. Thanks. My Prius battery died and I figured that was the end of my favorite car. I heard horror stories about how expensive a new Prius battery could be. I checked online and found a Prius forum and asked some questions. A couple of people mentioned Green Bean Battery and I decided to check into them. I also checked out local Toyota dealers and other places. The other places were a lot more and I had to get my car to them. That was just a pain in the wallet and the a$$. Jocelyn F. at Green Bean was great to work with. I was heading out of town and couldn't get it done right away, but she gave me all the information I needed and wasn't pushy at all. Now that I'm back in town I emailed her yesterday and had the battery installed right at my house today. Steve Z (Michigan) came out this morning and installed the battery. They worked around my schedule and were here right when they said they'd be. The first one he installed wasn't performing to their high quality standards and he installed another one. He was so nice and explained anything I had a question about. Steve drove the car around to make sure everything was working fine, checked the error codes, etc. That's how he found out the first battery wasn't up to his high standards. Other companies would have probably just sent me on my way only for me to find out down the road that things weren't working well. Their lifetime warranty is incredible and their prices were a good $1,000 or more less than other places. I found one other place an hour away that was around their same price, but only had a 1 or 2 year / so many mile warranty. I'm happy I'm able to drive my 2007 Prius again. Green Bean owner ... if you are reading this please give Jocelyn F and Steve Z a huge raise, a better parking spot, a paid vacation and a house-trained puppy. They were both wonderful to deal with. When I first heard about this company my first thoughts were this is way too good to be true. My mom kept pushing me to just talk to them anyway, so I did and they were very polite and very helpful and informative (Zach and Tim) and told me they supply a lifetime warranty for the battery they install, which I also thought was way* too good to be true. After reading all the reviews I had to believe it and take the chance. WOW! I am so glad I did! Eric came out and installed the battery. He was AWESOME! He was so so kind and he knew exactly what he was doing. It was done so fast and my car was up and running after sitting for a YEAR! Almir Silva came and changed my battery to my Honda. He was very nice and gave me very good information on my car. It was fast for him to do it. I made the appointment on Thursday and they got me in for Tuesday so I didn’t have to wait long at all for my battery to get changed. Best thing was that they came to my house and I was able to watch the battery get changed and they worked around my schedule to come change my battery for me. He went with me to test my car. I was at the Toyota dealer yesterday trying to figure out why I had the red warning triangle-check engine light combination (for the first time in almost 14 years of ownership). $175 later they offered me a battery replacement for about $2600. So I went on the web while still in the Toyota waiting room and searched for Prius battery replacements. Green Bean wasn't the cheapest at $1449, but it was over $1000 cheaper than the dealer and included a lifetime warranty.Matt was here at 9 am this morning and around 10 am the car was ready. (Toyota had stated yesterday that it was an involved operation and would take some time to complete.) The fuel gauge did not start measuring right away, so I went for a drive with Matt, and had a good conversation about maintaining old Priuses. Thanks to Matt and Green Bean everything looks good now. I hope they stay in business in case the warranty turns out to be needed at some point in the future (apparently in business since 2016).Thanks to Google, too, for these reviews. Our Yukon is approaching 150k miles but we are still very much in love with it and not ready to let it go. When we took it to the dealership- they wanted about $4500 to replace the battery but told us “frankly- I would just get rid of it” After research we decided to call Green Bean Battery. We were quoted at $2500 (before tax). I worked with Jocelyn and she explained the process for the refurbished systems, their warranties (and that they are transferable), and that the dealership would probably tell us we need a new truck... without giving her this info- we knew that they see this all the time and we were sold on working with them. The morning after finding out the hybrid battery had died was filled with trepidation as we used every tool we had to research the best solution. Sell? Then what? Replace? By who? Toyota? $3,000 with one year warranty and who knows how long in the shop and what else they would say HAD to be fixed. The local mechanic? $2,500 with 2 year warranty, still probably couple of days in the shop first waiting for the parts then waiting in line for the work. Then there was Green Bean.$1,449 with lifetime warranty? Sounded too good to be true so I called and spoke with real humans who seemed to answer questions honestly. I scanned the warranty to see who would respond and how if a problem arose, starting to make sense. After meeting with the local mechanic, I had a gut feeling the Green Bean guys were the answer. Called again, Joselyn was another real person who set up the appointment and confirmed it could be done THE SAME DAY. We waited for our 6pm appointment with Matt. He called to say he would arrive 15 minutes early and was as nice as everyone I had spoken with as Green Bean so far. He got right to his work with purpose and clarity and I tried not to bother him but was fascinated watching. It didn't last long. From start to finish, I'd say it took less than 30 minutes. He knew every screw, nut and bolt that need attention and he took it apart and put it back together with casual confidence. Tested the codes, test drive, ready to go in a total of 45 minutes from arrival. He is, in short, a pro who knows his job and does it with pleasure. Now, its the day after so I can't yet tell you that the battery lasted for 13 years or 160,000 miles like the last one. But I have confidence that if it doesn't, the Green Bean crew will make good on their promise to come replace it again. If you're on the fence, as we were, hope this helps sway you. I think the Green Bean crew recognized a niche that needed filling and I wish them continued success.

Adam our installer came to my work and changed the battery in the parking lot in under an hour. Adam was so nice, helpful and through at explaining everything. i would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a battery.

On my way home from work last Wednesday I received a check hybrid system on my 2008 Toyota Camry Hybrid. This is my first hybrid vehicle, and I expected buying a used car usually comes with some "fun" quirks to learn. I did some troubleshooting, but as I am somewhat unfamiliar the hybrid system I was uncomfortable attempting to swap the hybrid battery on my own. I did more research to find that batteries range from $1500 to $3500 and the warranties vary from company to company. I found Green Bean and did a double-take. They only charge roughly $1800 and they will remove the old battery and install the new one. Also, there is a lifetime warranty on the battery so long as the battery becomes the primary issue. There are NO ADDED FEES. Are you kidding? I went on their website and set an appointment for Saturday. Thursday morning I received a call from their office and we set a time. Saturday came and I could not be more impressed. Lenn and Marc did a fantastic job swapping my battery. The whole thing went like clockwork! The technicians were personable and knowledgeable of their work. If there is anything worth doing so long as you know that it is only your hybrid battery causing the trouble these are the right people for the job. I do not endorse lightly, and these folks get it done and get it done right. I want to give a huge thank you to the folks at Green Bean Battery! Keep up the good work!

Another happy customer. So yesterday I was sitting in my 2014 Prius and suddenly got the triangle of death light on the dashboard. I went to O'Rielys Auto store and they were able to do a free diagnosis and it came back as code P0A80. Which means a failure had occurred in my hybrid battery pack. Since my car had over 180k miles I already knew it i was going to need a new battery pack soon. I was totally dreading this day. After getting the code I called my local Toyota dealer where I purchased the Prius new 4 years ago. They told me my warranty was up at 150k and it was going to cost me $3000.00 to replace. They said they needed the car at least 3 days. I was a little stressed because I rely on my car for work and drive about 150 miles daily. Fortunately I was reading an article by Peter Neilson and he mentioned how he liked Green Bean Battery. So I looked Green Bean Battery up and I saw nothing but good reviews. I called and spoke with Zack. Initially I was told that they could come out to my house tomorrow and complete the job, which I though was amazing. However I needed my car tomorrow. I knew it was a stretch but I asked if there was any chance it could be done today. Zack asked if he could call me back and he would see what he could do. About 15 minutes later I got a call and Zack was happy to inform me it could be done today. I was floored! He gave me the name of the person who would show up and an ETA. The Technician was Marc. Marc called me and asked if he could show up a little early and I totally cool with that. Marc was very pleasant and nice to talk to . We kinda hit it off just talking. He was sharing his experience with his line of work and where he had traveled. He just kept on working while were talking. Before I know it he was done. It only took about 45 minutes. He obviously new his job and he did it with ease. I couldn't be more happier. I got amazing service by wonderful people. The job was completed the same day and I paid nearly half of what the dealer was asking. Cant beat that! If this company starts selling stock. Start buying it!! I just want to thank everyone at Green Bean Battery for an excellent experience! Thank you so much!!

They honor their warranty transfer!About 18 months ago they drove all the way to our town and to the high school parking lot to replace the battery on my daughter's hybrid Camry (2007). It was fast and the battery has worked terrific since then. The price was much better than anything I could find (there were a few cut rate local places--one admitted that their batteries were temporary to get the car to work so it could be sold--would cost more than Green Bean if I wanted a 1 year warranty). The battery has been flawless. My daughter decided to sell her car to a mechanic at the dealer and it was extremely easy for the new owner to inherit the lifetime warranty (so long as it stays with the same car--not parted out). I have referred this place to the mechanic that has worked on my cars for the last 20 years. He has used them and is already a fan.Thank you Green Bean for a very needed and solid service (we all hate spending the money--but it was about 1/3rd of the dealers and they only had a 3 year warranty).

I am so glad that I've found Green Bean. I recently purchased an old Prius. This being my first hybrid, wasn't sure if I needed a new battery or not. Ryan from Green Bean was so patient & helpful even though I called him 4 times. To make the long story short, I didn't need a new battery. It was apparent that he wasn't going to sell something that I didn't need. I will definitely contact Green Bean when I do need a new battery.

It’s my turn to write a 5* review so others can be at ease with choosing Green Bean! My cousin was faced with having to replace the battery in his 2009 Camry. After looking at many products he found Green Bean online and we initially felt skeptical, just like you might be right now, about the company and the products. Let me tell you, do yourself a favor and go with Green Bean—you will thank yourself and so will your pocketbook. I called on a Friday morning to inquire about cost and availability and was greeted by a very friendly and knowledgable rep—I believe her name is Jocelyn. She gave me the pricing and appointment availability (had appt for Sat and Monday and the rest of the week as well) and I told her I needed to share the info with my cousin and call back. Upon the call back Jocelyn confirmed us for the coming Monday and that Matt would be our installer. On Monday, about an hour and a half prior to our appointment, Matt called to advise he was on his way and would arrive in about 45 min. Upon arrival, Matt identified himself as a Green Bean employee, explained the process and went to work. Matt’s knowledge of the process is evident as he was very efficient with his time and had the work complete and codes checked and removed from the OBD. We took the car for a test drive after paying the balance and upon return gave Matt the thumbs up. Overall a very quick and easy process and you can’t beat the lifetime warranty. There was a noticeable improvement right away in power and MPG. Again, try it, you’ll thank yourself you did.

Extraordinary customer experience!! Greenbean overdelivered!! One day after having our Prius battery diagnosed as bad, Greenbean installer Gene arrived at my wife's office and in just 35 minutes he replaced the battery, reset the trouble codes and test drove the vehicle. All this with an unbeatable warranty for about 1/3 the price of what the dealer quoted me to replace the battery. Matt Nemeth was my installer he was very efficient and had me taken care of in about an hour. So far so good the car runs and drives like it should. I have multiple hybrid vehicles and am very glad this service exists. After getting 3 other estimates between $3900 and $5500 (new battery installed with only 1 yr warranty) I found this and almost seemed too good to be true. So far I'm pleasantly surprised!

I had a great experience with Green Bean battery. After going through the entire process of getting my 2007 Toyota Prius diagnosed, I found out that my hybrid battery was failing.I researched for hours, evaluating getting a dealer/Toyota made battery vs. refurbished, doing the work myself vs. having it done for me, it was maddening! Finally I decided that there wasn't much difference between dealer and refurbished and that the refurbished battery companies were less expensive anyway.Green bean battery won out online due to the amount of positive reviews they have received. This is clearly well earned. Every time I called them on the phone I spoke with Keith who was very friendly and enunciated well over the phone. He walked me through booking and what the company needed.They sold me a new battery, the labor to install it, and a lifetime warranty all for $1449.00. A technician named Dave came to my apartment in Boston and did the work in less than 45 minuted in the street near my building. We did a test drive and finalized the paperowork and I was on my way.I drove my Prius about 440 miles on the highway the very next day and my Prius had zero problems, maintaining a charge very well throughout.I recommend this company and their services and I have not experienced customer service and quality of this kind in a long while. Arrived at Noon, explained the entire process to me, swapped the hybrid cores, took it for a test drive and everything was perfect. Matt was polite, energetic and did a great job. I had Green Bean Battery replace my Gen 2 Prius hybrid battery in Spokane, Washington. I was a little hesitant trying an online based company that did not seem to have any other reviews for work done in my area; but they were over $1,000 cheaper than the local shops, and offered a better warranty. I was pleasantly surprised with the results. Scheduling was easy, payment was easy, and service was prompt and professional. The technician, Eric, came from out of town, met me in a parking lot, and had the battery swapped out in under an hour. We went for a test drive and verified all codes were cleared and the new battery was good. The whole thing only cost about $300 more than it would have for me to do it myself, and comes with a lifetime warranty including labor. Highly recommended.

Our 2006 Prius' HV battery started throwing engine warning codes in April. The dealership declined to replace it with a refurbished battery, even for a 13-year-old car, that I only needed to last for one more year.When I paid my $1500 to Green Bean -- about half the dealership's best quote -- Will came out to our own driveway on a chilly day in April and installed the replacement battery within an hour. It was solid for months.About 5 months later, the refurbished battery started throwing engine warning codes too. I knew it wasn't urgent, and wondered whether there was an upstream problem, but Green Bean didn't hesitate to replace their battery. I filled out the warranty form, answered a couple verification questions, and Adam was in my driveway within 48 hours with a replacement -- no charge. Like Will had, Adam verified the engine warning codes were gone, and we took it for a test drive.Two weeks later, the battery's still giving us great mileage (see photo from this week). No engine warning codes, and plenty of power.Us "tree huggers" don't want a new HV battery for a 13-year-old car. We just want a little more life out of a well-built car, and a modular battery. I love Green Bean's business model. The way they stand by their product earns 5 stars.

The installer was great. It was super convenient for them to come to my house to do the job. The price can't be beat. It has a lifetime guarantee. What more can you ask for? I spent a few days calling local mechanics, the dealer, visiting another company similar to Green Bean. I was a little concerned that what Green Bean was offering was actually too good to be true. Time will tell how well these reconditioned batteries work. I was impressed that they actually told me the failure rate of the batteries rather than giving giving some non-answer like "it depends" I have only had the replacement battery for about a month and half. My MPG returned to what it was was probably 3 years ago. If I remember I'll update this review in a year if it is still working.

3 months ago we had Green Bean Battery replace the 14 year old hybrid battery on our 2005 Prius. Ever part of the transaction went very smoothly. The mechanic that came to the house to do the changeout was on time and professional and had the battery replaced in 1.5 hours. We just got back from a 2 week road trip and our gas mileage was like when the Prius was new. The overall service is great. I scheduled the installation online for 9/21/19, Saturday, on Tuesday, 9/17. But I was really planning to have it on Friday., 9/20. I received a call from Zach to confirm the appointment. I told him that I made a mistake and I wanted in on the 20th. He checked for a slot and it was rescheduled it on the 20th at 4:30 PM. Today, the 20th. Today, I received a call from from a 925 area code and I didn’t answer it. But he left a message and also sent a text, asking me he can come in early at 3:30 PM. I texted him back to tell him it’s okay. At 3:30 PM, our doorbell rang. When I opened the door, he was all smile and introduced himself as Matt. He went straight to explain what he’s going to do and might take about 45 minutes. Lo and behold, he installed the battery in less than 45 minutes. My 2004 Prius turned on without any warning lights, test run it and everything is okay. He even tried to to fix the consumption/energy monitor, which was not working for years now. But I told him that as long as we’re able to drive it for the next 5 years, I don’t care about the monitor. But he said he will let me know if he finds any information about it. He checked the radio and a/c, both are working. He checked it with his diagnostic scanner and didn’t show any. Matt is awesome! Now we’ll just wait and see how the installed battery will last! I hope it’s as good as the service I received.

Great experience. My installer Ali was on time and finished the job in less time than expected. He was done with everything within 45 minutes. My only issue is I used an app on my phone called Dr. Prius to perform my own test and the battery came back with a 46% life expectancy. Not what I wanted to see, but I’m comfortable with it since I have a lifetime warranty......Exactly 3 weeks later, I tested again and its at 71%. I am even happier with my purchase now because anything above 70% is considered to be in good condition. I guess it just needed to be used a little.

So far a great experience with this company. The online rep was very helpful in getting the proper replacement and time set up for our 2005 Prius. Called on a Thursday and had the appointment for replacement set up the following Tuesday. Steve Z, the installer called in advance of the scheduled replacement time to confirm the repair. He arrived on time, was very knowledgeable and detailed in the replacement of the battery. Steve had the battery replaced in under an hour, and took the car for a test drive to confirm all codes were reset - a real professional.

I’m absolutely amazed on this company’s word! I was skeptical at first and now I adore them! Adam was very professional and fun to talk to. He took the old battery out, put in the new one, and had the car put back together in about 45 minutes! Thank you Adam for driving from Cincinnati to Illinois!

I was lucky to come across this company online while searching replacement options for the hybrid battery on my Chevy Tahoe. The price was right and the warrantee speaks for itself!! My installer Adam was friendly helpful and definitely answered all the questions and concerns I had. I was very impressed by this whole process. This company will go far and excel if they have people like Adam involved! He gets 6 stars from me! I highly recommend Green Bean Battery for anyone’s hybrid battery needs. One other thing, my hybrid system is now running just like it did when this truck was brand new!

Very pleased with the install. The tech (Ali) was very professional and friendly. He texted me ahead of arrival and was on time. The installation was quick, yet no corner was cut (I know because I installed a refurbished HV battery from Autozone 4 years ago). The car now runs great and couldn’t be happier.

Not only did Green Bean Battery give me a fantastically working battery, but when the technician did the final diagnostics after installation, he noted a misfire code and had me open the hood. The technician pointed to the engine block and said that this code very well could be that I needed to have my spark plugs cleaned or replaced as oil probably got down there. I have had a misfire code for nearly two years now, and have had three shops read the codes and not one, including both my regular shop (twice) and the toyota dealership I went to to doubleconfirm the battery codes, told me that one potential fix for it was as simple and cheap as replacing the spark plugs. But this guy did and he explained why perfectly.So after the battery replacement, I got the spark plugs and another major repair and now my car is running better than it has ever done in the entirety of me owning this vehicle. No more loud whirring or constant on/off cycles and the engine is as quiet as new. It's been a month now and while initially the battery read in the low blues upon starting, in the last two weeks It's been all high blues and greens and I've been experiencing better fuel economy. Thank you so much Green Bean and technician! 100% recommend.

After searching for a battery for Nissan Altima 2007. I decided to purchase a green bean battery, mobile installer made the progress very easy, Geoff arrived on time was very friendly & professional & quick installation , we went on a test drive there was no errors. Looking at a $3600 Dealership estimate to replace the battery on my 2007 Prius, a co-worker recommended Green Bean. Steve Z. came out promptly and was absolutely terrific. Very knowledgeable and willing to explain everything he was doing. He was also so positive and enthusiastic about his work and the company - an outstanding professional. Great experience overall.
