A failing hybrid battery usually announces itself: fuel economy drops, the gas engine runs more than it used to, a warning light comes on. Those same symptoms show up with other faults, so pull the trouble codes before you spend anything. Our trouble code lookup explains what each one means.
Sodium lasts the longest of the three at 5-7 years and comes with a 4-year, unlimited-mileage warranty. Its rated range of −40°F to 140°F covers anything a Washington summer gets to.
Sodium is newer technology, so it is not offered for every vehicle yet. Find My Battery will tell you in a couple of steps whether sodium is available for yours.
Prismatic is our closest match to your vehicle’s original battery, designed to deliver the familiar performance you expect. It typically lasts 4-6 years and comes with a 3-year, unlimited-mileage warranty.
Cylindrical is the most affordable of the three, running 3-5 years with a 2-year, unlimited-mileage warranty. It puts out the strongest power of the three, which suits a vehicle that spends its time on the passes.
This order is for Washington. Each type carries its own warranty, so coverage depends on which battery you choose — the warranty page lists the terms, and the battery technology page has the full side-by-side comparison.
No bay, no lift, no garage. Your driveway, your office lot, wherever the vehicle is sitting.
Tell us the year, make and model. We’ll confirm which batteries fit and what each one costs before anything gets booked.
After your order is confirmed, our scheduling team will work with you to choose and book a convenient date, time, and location that fits your schedule.
A technician shows up with the battery and the tools. Nothing to drop off, no loaner, no waiting room.
Most installs take about an hour. The old battery leaves with the technician and goes back for recycling.
We install across the whole state. If your town isn’t on the list, it’s almost certainly still covered — give us a call.
These are the ones we see most in Washington. We cover plenty more, so it’s worth checking even if yours isn’t here.
Yes. A driveway, an office lot or a curbside space is all it takes — no shop visit, no tow, no garage. Tell us where you are and we’ll confirm the options for your address.
Mild weather helps, but it is not the only thing working on a hybrid battery. Slow traffic drains it without the engine getting a steady run to replace the charge, and a battery held low makes heat doing ordinary work. The years add their share.
The summers, almost certainly, along with the years. Heat works on a battery parked or moving, and a run of hot afternoons takes capacity off for good. Distance is not what uses a battery up, which is why none of our warranties counts miles.
The usual signs are worse gas mileage, the engine running more than it used to, less power on hills, and a warning light. Other problems cause the same signs, so read the trouble codes before you spend anything. Our trouble code lookup tells you what each code means. A clogged cooling filter can bring on much the same complaints on an older vehicle, so it is worth checking at the same time.
You don’t have to figure this out alone. Call us and we will go through the codes with you and rule out the other causes first.
Whatever it turns out to be, the vehicle still drives. A worn hybrid battery costs you gas mileage and some power. It does not leave you stranded.
Those figures answer different questions. Ten or twelve years is how long an original takes to fade to about 60% of what it held new, and most of the fade happens without anyone noticing. What we quote is working service life with a warranty attached. Sodium 5-7 years, prismatic 4-6, cylindrical 3-5.
Choose New Module Sodium if it is offered for your vehicle, because it lasts the longest and takes heat better than anything else we sell. Choose New Module Prismatic for the nearest match to the battery you have now. Choose New Module Cylindrical if price comes first, or if you want the most power for the passes. The battery technology page compares all three. If you cannot pick, choose any one of them and ask us for a quote covering all three, and we will put it together.
Every battery we install is covered, and none of the warranties has a mileage limit. There is nothing to cap, because how far you drive is not what wears a hybrid battery out. How many years you get depends on which battery you choose, and the warranty page has the terms.
Shade in the summer does the most, and it matters more the further east you are. Change the cooling filter on schedule, because that filter is the only real maintenance a hybrid battery has. If the vehicle sits for weeks at a time, take it out for a decent drive now and then. A hybrid battery slowly loses charge when nothing is using it, and letting it run all the way down does permanent damage.
