Your first option is, of course, to simply purchase a new battery from the dealer. In our experience, this can cost anywhere from $3000 to $5000 depending on your vehicle’s make and model. If you’re looking to get another 10+ years out of your vehicle and don’t mind reinvesting that amount of money in your car, then this is the option for you.

Second is to go the DIY route, replace individual modules or cells and hope for the best. This will most likely result in an unbalanced battery pack and the biggest chance for more issues in the near future. Since an unbalanced battery pack will deteriorate faster than a properly matched one. Or purchase a used battery online, which typically comes from a vehicle being scrapped or one that was in an accident. The DIY option will be the most affordable route, but also the riskiest, since there are few guarantees that the modules or the battery will work until it’s installed and paid for.
