Creating a reliable, reconditioned hybrid battery, is what sets Green Bean Battery apart from everyone else. When we take the old hybrid battery out of your vehicle, we bring it back to our production site, and put it through our proprietary reconditioning process.
Before Reconditioning
Each colored line represents a module (a battery cell) inside the failed hybrid battery. The lines of different lengths represent the different capacities of the modules. Having many varying length lines - especially many short lines - means the battery was highly out-of-balance with several bad modules.
During Reconditioning
- Cycling - Restores capacity and stress-tests the modules to eliminate weak modules or modules that may be nearing the end of life.
- Profiling - Precision measurement of the modules is conducted to classify and determine the important parameters of the modules.
- Final testing - Testing the final product under high load ensures that the reconditioning process results in a well-balanced and matched hybrid battery pack.
After Reconditioning
After the reconditioning process, every battery pack will consist of only high-capacity modules with similar characteristics, like capacity and resistance values. The graph shows all modules of similar values which indicates a well-balanced battery with matched modules. The remaining electrical and wiring components are checked, reconditioned, and tested to ensure proper operation. The battery connections are upgraded with nickel plating to prevent corrosion. The entire battery pack is then reassembled and load tested to simulate real-world driving conditions.
